Regular People Wanted for Model Shoot

I am updating my portfolio in June and July and I need some everyday people between the ages of 30 and 50 to model for me in an outdoor setting. No experience is needed and you can bring a friend along, or several. In exchange for letting me photograph you for my print and online portfolios, you will get a disk of selected photos and 5 prints (4x6) of your choice. It would be a great chance to have fun with friends! I need 3 women and 3 men of all hair colors and sizes- petite, stocky, athletic, curvy, extra pounds, burly, short, tall, medium, etc.

Lehigh county and Delaware county locations.

Exact locations TBD.

Please email me at LVShutterbug @ gmail. com

Thanks!

I have made certain works of mine available in my etsy store. The store currently features note cards, greeting cards and select fine art prints mounted on single mat board. There is a variety of subjects from which to choose- kitchen (food, beverages, desserts), flowers (water lillies, tulips, roses, lillies), birds, duckies, and more.

This week my scrabble pendant and necklaces featuring my art work will debut- a fresh new way to wear eco-friendly jewelry. Each hand made pendant made with my art-work is $5. Chains are $4.00.

Let Him Eat Cake!

Recently I had a great time shooting a very handsome man on his very special birthday. This guy has gotten better with age, let me tell you. He's got a great smile but also a very serious expression that he shows from time to time. He's affectionate and loves to laugh. He's a snazzy dresser and people just can't keep their hands off of him. And who can blame them? This dude is the whole package. His only issue seems to be his messiness when eating cake, but it's a guy thing. And I'm willing to overlook it because of all his other redeeming qualities.

So, here is the birthday boy on his big day. He's irresistible, I know.

Stand tall America

Today it is too painful to recount all the details of my personal story as an observer of the events of 9/11/01. Watching the events unfold live on tv while I held my baby daughter who I had just brought to this country with the promise of a better life Rushing to my older daughter's school that was being evacuated in chaos. Trying to locate family members at work in Philly as it evacuated, and not knowing where my cousin at work in NYC was until that night. I can't detail the pain I felt as plane after plane crashed, killing fellow Americans. And today I can't describe the shock and profound sadness I felt when the news announced that one of my classmates had perished on the 104th floor of the WTC. It's not that I don't want to remember. I can. And I do. It's that I can never forget. And I hope nobody else can, either.

God Bless America. Please remember and pray for our troops.

Golden Girl

I am happy to report that I have been too busy to blog. I've had a bunch of shoots in the past few weeks and have been squeezing in the editing late at night while doing my coursework with New York Institute of Photography.

Last week I had the pleasure to photograph a beautiful blue-eyed blonde who lit up my studio with her smile and laughter. I've known her for a year and had no idea she would photograph so well- her beauty has always been obvious, of course, but take a look at this sensational senior in front of the camera. Hello, Hollywood!

Thanks Meg, for making the shoot easy and fun!

Human Simba

When you are the mother of a diva, you never know what to expect. Sure, you go to the school concerts and plays and on tour, (and if you're lucky-and you're me- you get to see your kid sing at Carnegie Hall!) but when these events are not taking place, the creative artist looks for an outlet for the creativity.

My daughter is an artist- she has an amazing talent for drawing and photography and on top of that, she is a fantastic singer and actress (lead in the school play, thank you very much) and has to be writing, drawing, singing, composing, etc. The art she got from me and the music from her dad. Each of us are devoid of the other one's talents so this is the only way to explain her multiple talents.

So yesterday she came to me and said she wanted to be a human version of Simba fromthe Lion King and wanted a photo shoot. She had been sketching cat faced humans for a few days, I knew. I know better than to question, so I said "yeah, sure." I admit this should not have surprised me since last week she dressed up as the Little Mermaid and had me take photos of her at the beach.

A few hours later she came to me and said, "I'm ready. Can we go down to the studio now?" I looked at her, my feline daughter, and didn't know quite what to say. I nodded, checking out her wild hair and cat makeup and took her to the studio where she growled, clawed, jumped and snarled through an hour long photo shoot.

Here she is, my Simba.
